The Setup

Cut grass first
Use stakes and string
Line fields 2x the first time to ensure a line that lasts through the season

How Often?

Five to ten days depending on use
Assign volunteers - begin with a base field crew and rotate teams to augment each week's field efforts

Paint and Equipment

  • You'll need a standard line striper - we offer the SSM
  • Use water-soluble paint - let's not forget the environment
  • Paint Cans - Universal tips are the standard. Unless you have a really, really, old machine the paint will work in your machines
TIP: Stay away from bulk painters. They cost more, are messy and need excellent care or else they will fail.

How to Determine your Season Needs

Here's the formula - we're showing this assuming 4 fields and a 10 week season
Total # of fields _4_ multiplied by
Total # of weeks in the season(from first practice to last game) _10_ multiplied by
6 cans per field = 240 total# of cans needed

Total # of cans 240 / 12 cans per case = 20 cases of paint needed for the season

TIP: Paint is cheap relative to the cost to ship it. Order more than you think you'll need or you'll pay later when you need just a few more cases.
